why printing your photos is important for you and your family
Time is fleeting. We know this is all too real of a statement. Our babies are born and next thing we know, they are graduating kindergarten... then going to High School in the blink of an eye. And we think to ourselves- how did they grow up so fast?
Printing your portraits- professional or just photos you took with your phone- should be an integral part of designing your home.
Studies have shown that children who grow up with pictures of themselves and their family and friends on walls they see on a regular basis, have better sense of confidence, self esteem as well as feeling important. Adults who are surrounded by these photos also have mental health benefits such as coping with stress, reflection, and maintaining their sense of identity.

During this call, we will talk about your vision and dreams for your newborn session. We get to know each other a bit, kind of like friends having a coffee chat. Let's make sure we are a good fit to work together to ensure a wonderful experience!
SESSION DISCOVERY

I will walk you through the styling process of your session, we will choose a palette and props based off your home design and your vision. We will also determine what artwork options will be a best fit for your home.
SESSION PLANNING
On the session day, you will arrive at our Downtown Tacoma Studio or the location we have previously determined together. We will take this time together to photograph the session, listen to some calming music and have a relaxing time together.
SESSION DAY!
Within 3 business days, you will receive your link to choose the photos you want us to edit for you.
This will be done at your home. You can choose a Facetime/Google Hangout call to discuss any questions about the photos.
CHOOSE YOUR PORTRAITS
We will discuss your collection before our session and after the session. You will also have our Investment Guide to mull over in the waiting. Once you have chosen the photos you want edited, you will also choose your products. Choose from our collections or a la carte.
DESIGN + ORDERING
All the beautiful artwork you have ordered will be ready for pick-up from our Downtown Tacoma studio approximately 6-10 weeks after your ordering appointment.
We also offer installation for your frames at your home.

Your baby's milestones are meant to be celebrated! From sitter sessions (sitting up all by themselves!) to that first year celebration- we love celebrating with you and spoiling your little one!
We focus on the simplicity of your little one for these sessions- a simple background, a simple cake (or donuts!), maybe a balloon or two. We want the portraits to highlight your baby.
We love that every family walks away with tangible items from their session, and of course digital files are included. But our Signature Art Pieces and Heirloom Albums are our pride and joy.
What Makes The Newborn Artist experience different...
We always require a $1500 retainer and signed contract to secure your session with The Newborn Artist. Payment plans are available for the retainer, but must be paid in full before the session date. Your retainer will be applied to your session fee and your purchase of products during your ordering session.
We have a $1500 minimum purchase requirement for all sessions (this includes your session fee) unless stated otherwise in the contract.
We take on limited clients per month, to make sure each beautiful family is well taken care of, so booking as early as possible is highly encouraged. But don’t be discouraged if you’ve decided last minute to do a session- contact us! Let's chat! We tend to book out 3-6 months in advance. Book early!
No, prices shown do not include the 10.1% rate for taxes in Tacoma,WA where our studio is located. We do not give discounts for paying in cash or waive sales tax. Digital products are also considered taxable in Washington State, so we must comply to remain a legit and respectable business in our community.
Copyright is sold on a per-digital photo basis at the rate of $3500 per digital image. And thats a pretty costly option (usually reserved for our clients who wish to keep their photos private).
We do not offer raw files as an option for purchase.
We have a 3 step process when it comes to your photos getting into your hands. First step will be to choose your photographs you'd like us to edit. We then send those to our editor for professional editing and retouching. Based on what you have purchased during your ordering and design session, products usually arrive within 6-10 weeks (we have a few vendors in Italy and the Netherlands). Digital files that are ordered will arrive via digital download, sent to your email within 24 business hours of your order.
Due to the nature of the products and services, ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
If there is a defect in your product within 7 days of receiving the physical product, we will replace at no cost.
