Noa Christine’s Birth Story | Seattle Birth Photographer
Being a full time Seattle Birth Photographer (and newborn photographer), I absolutely LOVE meeting new clients! I love getting to know them before they have their sweet little babes… and I love being there to capture their sweet little babes coming into this world! I met Aimee a few months ago, when she reached out to commission me to capture her upcoming birth. I loved getting to know about her and her growing business (she is a BOMB hairstylist people… amazing!!) and her sweet daughter.
On July 31st, Aimee and I were texting about how she was feeling, etc. She told me a few days before she was feeling kind of eh… fluish… so that was my first hint at making sure my birth bag was packed! Later that evening, she texted me around 9pm saying she was on her way to the hospital because those darn contractions were painful… so when she texted me later that she was at 3cm, I just knew I needed to start heading up to Valley Medical Center in Renton before the morning Seattle traffic started. I got the hospital around 4am, and everyone in the hospital room (Aimee, dad and grandma) was sleeping (thank GOD for epidurals, right?). Around 530am, she was getting ready to have her sweet babe… in which mom and dad didn’t know the sex of the baby yet- so it was going to be a surprise! Aimee’s bag hadn’t broken yet and the doctor & nurses and I were all so EXCITED for a possible birth en caul (en caul is when the baby is born in the sac still in tact… its pretty rare! 1/80,000 births are en caul). The bag broke when baby’s head started to crown, but I got some super cool shots (for parent’s eyes only…) of the amniotic fluid! Super freaking cool, folks.
Aimee had her babe at exactly 6am on August 1st (her due date!!!) with a few pushes and a stunningly beautiful baby… GIRL! And let me tell you… Mom and Dad were surely surprised!
Thank you Aimee for inviting me to be a part of Noa Christine’s birth story. I am deeply grateful you trusted me to capture this precious moment in your lives! xoxo, Julie | The Newborn Artist | Seattle Birth Photographer
