Meet The Newborn Artist
Choosing a photographer to photograph an intimate moment - such as a birth or a newborn baby - can be challenging.
You are choosing someone to capture a moment in your life that is so special, private and intimate, you need to be able to connect on another level with this artist.
The “about the artist” section is not to boast or brag but rather to give you an insight on the person behind the lens- a chance for you to "Meet The Newborn Artist"
Meet the ArtistHave some insight into the creative mind behind the lens
I always dread writing this section- the “about me” section. Basically these are sections designed to try and sell you on how “amazing I am” or “this is why you should hire me”, but that’s not what I want you to focus on when visiting my website. What I want you to focus on is who the artist is (besides the sweet babies of course). Who I am.
First and foremost, I am a daughter of the One True King. Ephesians 2:10 says – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. These words fuel me. Colossians 3:23 says – Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. My work ethic stems from this verse. I am not a photographer because I want fame and fortune. I am an artist, a photographer because I want to touch the hearts of my clients by capturing a moment so special in their lives, that they will always remember that day with a smile on their faces.
I have two amazingly fun, silly and creative children. My son and daughter are joyful to be around. They bring light and laughter to all those who meet them. Besides being a mom & photographer and mentor, I am active in serving my local community and serving at my church. I love to sing, relax at the beach or in the local rivers, explore the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with my kids and mama, read an eclectic variety of books and writing blogs (currently attempting to write a book!), LOVE good espresso (I have become a bit of a coffee snob since moving up to the PNW. The huge coffee company’s don’t cut it for me anymore), and most of all- I love making authentic connections with people around me.
Authenticity is so important in today’s fast paced life. Which is one of the reasons why I find capturing birth, newborns and maternity so appealing.
Birth is so raw. Newborns are so fresh and new… and I love capturing it all.
Capturing it all, in it’s perfect imperfections.
Capturing God’s beauty in life.
I hope you have gotten a glimpse into who I am, who I strive to be and most of all… a glimpse into the artist behind the lens.
